The development of communities consists of dynamic processes involving all segments of the locality, including the often-overlooked adult and family population. By facilitating interaction and developing relationships, these diverse individuals interact and begin to mutually understand common needs. When relationships, consistent interaction, and channels of communication can be established and maintained, increases in local adaptive capacities materialize and the communities can emerge.
When adults and families are involved, no matter the environment, collective actions occur that can cause a ripple effect that spreads all around. This effect can become so great that it overcomes the harsh concerns that once hardened the hearts of adults and families to commit to life-rewarding actions. These collective actions allow residents of all ages and backgrounds to participate in the creation, articulation, and implementation of efforts to support local change. Through this process of interaction, the collection of individuals creates an entity whose whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
The Need
Having a peace of mind, health, emotional well-being and state of happiness is a great feeling and should be experienced often by everyone. However, most adults and families in challenging environments are not fortunate to achieve this state of mind. Research indicates that people who have emotional well being are more productive, learn more, and earn more money, even after factoring out variables such as parents’ income and grades. They do better in majority of jobs. Given all of the benefits of optimism and emotional well-being, how can their development not be considered a major mandate for schools, parents and even governments?
The lack of these qualities can have a negative impact on adults and families. Without these qualities they can constitute a set of harmful emotional skills and attitudes that can lead individuals and families to lower achievements, decrease chances of success in life, debilitating health, painful relationships, less resilience against depression, and poor conduct.
The Solution
Research shows that those of us who have someone to call when we are distressed and someone with whom to share our triumphs are healthier, live longer, and produce more. Relationships add to our overall emotional well- being and strengthen our ability to conquer adversity. Our adult & family method promotes the following:
strong relationships to faith,
the leaders that are in place of the “churches” buildings we provide, activities that increase positive emotional skills,
and also provides meetings to discuss jobs around the communities.
The meetings will furnish clarity to the importance of work, how to work, how to apply for jobs, basics for attire, and behavior on a job and interview processes. The World Through Him, Inc. understands that they can’t save every adult/family alone or be in every community in need of this support. However, by leading by example our vision is to grow through others so that one day God’s love and faith spread throughout in all aspects of life improving physical, life, emotional, financial, medical, and educational growth.
